Retracatable Cable

Retractable electrical cables, coiled cable, spiral cables and cable assemblies are designed for the harsh environments that are found in petro-chemical storage facilities, marine and similar heavy industries.

In a typical application, custom built extendable / retractable cables are manufactured specifically for ‘floating roof’ petro-chemical storage tanks. To allow for changes in floating roof elevation, an extendable / retractable cable is used to connect the Linear Heat Detection cable fitted around the circumference of the floating roof with the control panel. As the roof drops lower, the spring like cable extends and as the roof rises the cable retracts into a closed spring coil.
